Hang up photos around your living room

A great way to not only liven up your living room, and to add some personality to it, is to hang up some photos. Especially if you live away from your hometown, it will be nice to decorate your living room with photos of people, pets, and places that you love. It doesn’t have to be expensive, either. Some pharmacies offer quick and affordable photo printing services, so you can get your photos printed there while you shop. You can buy a frame for the photos, but if you don’t want to spend the extra money, you can come up with a creative way to display the photos. For example, you can use clothespins to hang them on a string, or you can create a collage on a bulletin board. If you’re looking for ideas to liven up your living room, look no further than the photos on your camera roll!

Buy new throw pillows for your couch and chairs

Another way to freshen up your living space is to buy some new throw pillows. You don’t have to buy a ton of pillows to make your living room look new. Just one or two new colorful pillows will do the trick. Bonus points if the new pillows are colors that you have never used in your living room before! Bright red or blue throw pillows are my personal favorite, as they will stand out. Just adding two new throw pillows can make a world of a difference in your living room decorations.

Add some flowers to your living room coffee table

Flowers are beautiful and bright, they will liven up any living space. It’s nice to have something fresh and alive, like flowers, in your living room. Flowers are also cheap and easy to find. For that reason, adding some flowers to your living room is a quick and inexpensive way to lighten up your space. Just be sure to water them to keep them happy!

Change up the lighting in your living room

A change in the lighting of your living room will make a big difference in the entire ambiance of the room. To change the lighting of your living room, you can do things like buy a new floor lamp, change the lightbulbs of your main lighting fixture (be careful with this, make sure the new lightbulb has the same wattage/power as the old one!), or even add string lights. If you are willing to spend a little more money, you can even change the main lighting fixture altogether, and that will definitely change up the look of your living room. If you want to revamp the ambiance of your living room, mix up the lighting!

Rearrange the furniture you already have in your living room

This tip and the next one are my favorites, since they don’t require spending any money! One way to revamp your living room space without spending any money is to rearrange the furniture you already have there! If your couch is facing one way, turn it around. Instead of having your coffee table stand horizontally, rotate it 90 degrees so it stands vertically. Move your entertainment or TV set, too. Of course, move any chairs, too. Rearranging the furniture in your living room will definitely give the space a fresh look, and you don’t have to spend any money for it!

Get rid of the excess clutter in your living room

Another way to liven up your living space without spending any money is to reduce the number of things in your living room, rather than add to it. Decluttering is such a freeing thing to do, and you will have less things to clean and to worry about. Take a look at the things you have in your living room and decide what you can live without. Can you donate some of your coffee table magazines and books? Can you store some of your old DVDs? Do you want to replace old picture frames and collages with new ones? Can you donate some of your furniture? Getting rid of the clutter in your living room, whether it is by donating, storing, or throwing away, will create a lighter atmosphere in your living room.

If you are getting bored of your living room, you don’t have to give it a complete makeover. All you need a little bit of money, and you can revamp your living room using the tricks in this article.
